In the beginning...pt1

Have you ever turned on a TV Show or a movie when its already began? Most likely, you've turned it off before it was over or flipped to a different channel because you weren't interested. Some might argue that to fully understand a plot, you must see the beginning of the show. This same ideal is used when speaking about the Bible. If you're having a hard time with the "plot" then Genisis is the right place to start. In Genisis, we are introduced to sin in the world, the creation of the universe, and a first glimpse at who God is. Different than everything else, God did not have a beginning, nor will He have an end. Reading through Genisis, I find more than just the beginning of time, the universe, and people but also the beginning of sin and its unfortionate impact it makes on our hearts. Genisis was written by Moses somewhere between the years of 1450 to 1410 B.C.

Verses 1-2 specifically mean a lot to me.

"1In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters."
I had always questioned how God could just appear and not be created by something, however the word simply starts with 'IN THE BEGINNING'..as in God was the beginning. Nothing before Him, for He is the beginning. Further on in Genisis, it goes on by explaining the earth and that which was upon it was entirely created in 7 days. God then gave man the responsibility of naming the animals. Through all of the naming, Adam could not find a helper that was completely suitable for him. So here, God put Adam in deep sleep. During the deep sleep he took out of of the mans ribs and :
"The Lord God made a woman from that rib, and he brought her to the man." -Genisis 2:21
The theory that God created a woman from a single bone from that of a man is striking. He created a woman with a bone that protects the mans life...a bone that protects his heart and his lungs supporting him as a woman should support him.
...(THIS IS ALL FOR PT 1) it covers only sections 1 and 2. Sorry for it being so lengthy.
